Our vision is for lower Rose Creek to be an open space park providing recreational and learning opportunities and a clean, healthy, aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors, businesses, and native plants and animals, while serving as an accessible link for bicyclists and pedestrians to move between Rose Canyon Park, Marian Bear Park, Mission Bay Park, and surrounding communities.

CA Coastal Cleanup Day Site Capitan Needed for Rose Creek

In 2005, 2006, and 2007, the Friends of Rose Creek participate in California Coastal Cleanup Day.

This year, we are looking for a new Site Capitan(s) to do the organizing work and recruiting of volunteers as I do not have the time this year to do it.

The cleanup takes place on Saturday, September 20 from 9 Am until noon, visit

Being a Site Capitan involves locating a cleanup site, attending a training hosted by I Love A Clean San Diego, recruiting volunteers, organizing the event and sending out press releases. I would be happy to share everything I have learned in doing this the last three years with anyone who wants to take it on this year.

If I don't hear back from anyone by 5 PM on Monday, I will let I Love A Clean San Diego know we won't be participating this year.
