Save Rose Creek

Our vision is for lower Rose Creek to be an open space park providing recreational and learning opportunities and a clean, healthy, aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors, businesses, and native plants and animals, while serving as an accessible link for bicyclists and pedestrians to move between Rose Canyon Park, Marian Bear Park, Mission Bay Park, and surrounding communities.

October 14 - Mission Bay Gateway and Wetlands Field Trip

Sunday, October 14 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm: Mission Bay Gateway Field Trip

A bike/walk field trip to see the gateway sites recommended for improvements in the Mission Bay Plan and/or Watershed Assessment.

Participants will travel mostly by bike from the top of the gateway where Rose and San Clemente creeks join (where highways 5 and 52 meet) down Rose Creek to where it enters the ocean, stopping at sites recommended for improvements in the Mission Bay Plan and/or the Wetlands Assessment. The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition has graciously agreed to host this field trip. Because we may have to shuttle people and/or bicycles, and will make arrangements for those who cannot bike or walk, we are requesting that participants pre-register.

You can register for the Field Trip by contacting the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition at 858-487-6063 or via e-mail at execdir@sdcbc.org . When you register, please provide your name, phone number and/or e-mail address, the number of participants, whether you will bike or walk and whether you will join us for lunch.

A pre-field trip lunch is being generously sponsored by the Karl Strauss Brewing Company. If you would like to attend the lunch, you must pre-register for the field trip by Wednesday, October 10th. The lunch will begin at noon.

Call 858-487-6063 to register
